Questline — The Missing Pendant
A scavenging merchant living rough in the caves beneath the Sunless Skein. She is the thief Byron is looking for, she does have Catrin's Pendant, and she is completely harmless.
Run-ending mistakes
- Ride the elevator into Upper Calrath before vouching for her with Byron and she dies off-screen. All that is left is a bloody backpack. The vendor is gone, Byron's armour set is unobtainable, and there is no way back.
Where they start
Sunless Skein. On patch 1.6.49 or later: from the Vestige of Catrin, vestige at your back, turn left, cross the shortcut bridge, follow the tunnel to its end — she is in an alcove above you. · Nearest vestige: Vestige of Catrin
The route
- Her alcove Talk to her. She has the pendant, will not sell it, and is not a threat. You get the Celebration Gesture.
- Vestige of Catrin Go back to Byron and pick the option telling him she is not a monster.
- Skyrest crypt — after: Only now ride the Skinstealer elevator into Upper Calrath Both relocate. After Byron's conversation and a rest, her stock expands with his gear.
The long route, on older patches
Kill the Skinstealer for the Drainage Control Key and DO NOT take the elevator up. Back into the Revelation Depths, ladder between the staircases down into the flooded cavern, Umbral across, Emergence Effigy doorway on the right back to the living world. Drain the cistern with the key, cross the crate bridge through the skeleton-marked doorway, follow the torch-lit tunnels to the far wall, right doorway past the brazier and drop. Left along the scaffolding, down, U-turn, ladder, torch-marked bridge, ladder again. At the broken bridge look right and smash the crates. Up the passage with white sacs, keep right — soulflay the Ravenous Fascinator rather than fighting it. Jump across, right path, kick the bridge down, kill the archer. On to the candlelit skeleton, roll through the breakable walls on the right, and she is at a makeshift tent.
