Questline — A Captain's Journey
Leader of the Fidelis, the resistance fighting the corrupted Hallowed Sentinels. He believes the lamp was meant for him, and is not shy about saying so. His stock expands twice.
Run-ending mistakes
- Reaching The Empyrean before you have handed over both banner pieces fails the quest. There are also reports that simply progressing after picking up the Tattered Banner can break it, so treat that pickup as a deadline to backtrack.

The route
- Skyrest Exhaust his dialogue, then interact again to open the shop.
- Skyrest — after: Kill The Spurned Progeny in Upper Calrath He is gone, leaving Stomund's Note, the Map of Belled Rise and the Pilgrim's Perch Key on the floor — free, if you had not bought the key. It otherwise costs 9,500 Vigor.
- Skyrest Talk to Eustace and Nathaniel. They correct the note: he went to the Manse, not Pilgrim's Perch.
- Manse of the Hallowed Brothers, small garden at the foot of the Abbey steps Directly on the main path. Check his shop afterward for the Manse expansion.
- Manse of the Hallowed Brothers, underground cellar Collect the Damaged Standard. From the end-of-area courtyard, drop through the archway on the right, raise the lamp at the blocked door, ride the elevator down, unlock the gate, take it off the floor in the ankle-deep water.
- Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters Find him again — from the Vestige of Rosamund the route runs through the archway, up the stairs, soulflay the tumor, up again, back to Axiom, to the top past an Ardent Penitent, two flights right, left into the courtyard with the tree, stairs in the left corner, then smash the barrels on your right. He asks for two banner pieces. Check the shop for the Abbey expansion.
- Abbey, Main Altar courtyard Collect the Tattered Banner. Facing the altar go left, up two flights, out to the courtyard, raise the lamp facing the gate toward the gazebo, soulflay the tumor and take the Saintly Quintessence. That spawns the Abbess behind you on the balcony; kill her for the Tattered Banner.
- Abbey Go straight back with both pieces. Do not push forward first. This is your last live encounter — buy anything you still want now.
- The Empyrean, stairway toward the Monastery From the Vestige of Iorelo the Cursed Knight. His body is on the right side of the landing, impaled on the restored banner.

Worth knowing
- Costly: His Abbey appearance is his last. The three Abbey rings and both spells are gone once you leave.
- Costly: Do not buy the Pilgrim's Perch Key. Wait for him to leave Skyrest and he gives it to you free, saving 9,500 Vigor — and you need it for Paladin Isaac's questline anyway.
- The Damaged Standard is back in the Manse and needs Umbral access. Grab it on your first pass.
- The Pilgrim's Perch mention in his note is a red herring. He went to the Manse.

What the game says about Stomund, Captain of the Fidelis
Each Hallowed Sentinel who joined the Fidelis fully accepted that they were risking their life by doing so, but after Tancred learned of their existence and he and those loyal to him carried out their murderous purge, Stomund could not dispel the troubling notion that all of that Fidelis blood was on his hands.
The game reveals this in play at high Radiance.
